Driver’s Training Certificate
During my scanning “marathon” a couple of weeks ago, I found this amongst other photos and papers that were in a box that belonged to my brother. This is his certificate from Driver’s Training School, 6000th Transportation Squadron at Fuchu Air Station in Japan. He completed this training on February 22, 1958 at the age of 18 years old. I don’t know the length of this course – whether it was a few weeks or longer (I’m hoping my sister will comment if she knows how long it was!).
What a great find. Was he over there as part of the military?
Regards, Jim

Yes – my dad was stationed there with Air Force (previously Army Air Corps)
From your sis – as usual – I don’t remember Jim attending this driver training course. Dad will probably remember this. In reference to your comment of Dad being stationed at Fuchu in the Army Air Corps, by that time it was the Air Force and he was stationed at Tachikawa but we lived close to Fuchu. In fact Jim and I rode our bikes to Fuchu all the time.
My correction-I failed to read properly that you had written that Dad was in the AF at that time; my mistake.
