And the best part? All this volunteering doesn’t only do good in the now, it also leaves visible traces for our descendants who are interested in our lives (or in our case, we find traces of the volunteer work our ancestors did).

And a side note on volunteering and the military, I never thought of that as volunteering, I always saw it as a job, but you are right, it’s volunteering to fight for or keep our freedom!
