Frequently Married Ancestors

After reading these posts, I thought that I would also write something along those lines.

In my AMORE line this is what I’ve discovered (unless otherwise noted the first marriage(s) ended in divorce):

Married FOUR times:

Beatrice Pearl Amore b. abt. 1910 d. Unknown to Frank Shambre, Henry McAfoose, Charles Vass & Donald Matthews
Georgia Anna Amore b. 1895 d. 1973 to Ottis Kazee, John A. Albert, Leroy Bennett & William Smith (died)

Married THREE times:

William Amore b. 1828 d. 1896 to: Frances Price, Charlotte Imons (my g-g-grandmother) & Elizabeth Spencer (first two wives died)
Thurman Lee Amore b. 1911 d. 1997 to Mary Ann Yeates (died), Wilma Stanley (div) & Mary Roederer (married when he died)
Everett Amore b. 1930 d. 1978 to E. Joan (Private), Delores (Private) & Shirley (Private)

Married TWICE:

Grover Cleveland Amore b. 1854 d. 1942 to Dollie Stone & Hannah Paugh
Jesse R. Amore b. 1898 d. 1964 to Alma Marie Vigus & Dora Jefferies Mills
Isaiah Henderson Amore b. 1876 d. 1977 to Lulu Mae St. Clair & Rose Vensil Wohlheter Kime
Clarence Wesley Amore b. 1893 d. 1972 to Nellie Frances Buchanan & Mary Traxler
Cephas Amore b. 1863 d. 1953 to Flora Euphrates Studor & Ada Prior (he survived both wives)
Pauline Elizabeth Amore b. 1915 d. 2005 to Smoots & Earl Van Cliffe Rusk (unknown on why first marriage ended)
Wesley Roy Amore b. 1907 d. 1973 to Alveretta Sharrock & Florence Whyde (both div.)
Sophie Amore b. 1918 d. 2003 to Roy Young & William Donley (died)
Mary Amore b. 1922 d. 2007 to Edward Grewell & Rodger Maple
Bervil Amore b. 1915 d. 1996 to Eva Swigert (died) & Ramona (Private) - survived him
Ralph W. Amore b. 1917 d. 1995 to Sarah Miller & Olive Grubb Birch

So it looks like Beatrice and Georgia have been married the most.  I did not include those who are still living - although there are several cousins that have been married two - three times and one person I know who has been married four times (1 divorce and 2 deaths and one spouse still married to).  What I did find were also several people who celebrated lengthy marriages - that I’ll save for another post.  I will also go back and look at some of my other lines to see how many marriages as well as longest married and earliest divorce I can locate.
